Jakarta, mataberita.net — For some individuals, work is more than a profession; it is a lifelong commitment to creating meaningful impact. The continuous pursuit of excellence, the willingness to strengthen one’s competence, and the discipline to keep learning are enduring proof that dedication, hard work, and consistency can shape a life of purpose. Competence becomes an identity that remains attached wherever a person serves and contributes. Knowledge, integrity, and professional capability eventually become a reputation that follows every step of one’s journey. These qualities are embodied by Dr. Khairul Hidayati, M.Si., M.IPR.

Khairul Hidayati is a figure widely regarded as intelligent, visionary, and inspiring in the effort to strengthen Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional/BGN). Through her academic achievements, professional experience, and commitment to public service, she represents a leadership model that combines intellectual rigor with a strong sense of social responsibility.

More than a personal accomplishment, Khairul Hidayati’s journey reflects the power of continuous learning and purposeful service—values that are increasingly vital in building institutions capable of shaping a healthier and more resilient future for Indonesia. She has devoted herself to the field of Public Relations (PR) over the past several years.

For affectionately known as Hida, public relations is far more than a profession; it is a discipline that teaches that building trust, sustaining meaningful communication, and delivering solutions require not only knowledge and experience, but also integrity. She closed the month of July with profound gratitude after receiving nine awards in recognition of her contributions to the public relations profession, an achievement she regards as deeply meaningful. “I do not see this as a finish line,” she said, reflecting on the recognition she received.

Rather than treating the awards as a culmination of success, Hida views them as a reminder to continue learning, serving, and creating broader public value. The recognition, she believes, carries a greater responsibility to uphold professionalism, strengthen public trust, and contribute more substantially to institutions and society. Her perspective reveals a leadership character grounded not in personal accolades, but in continuous growth, humility, and a commitment to making every achievement a stepping stone toward greater service.

“Rather, I see it as a reminder that there is still so much room to learn and grow. What matters most about this achievement is the long journey behind it. No accomplishment comes without effort. Every achievement is born from the willingness to keep improving oneself, to accept feedback, and to never stop strengthening one’s competence. When we are entrusted with a particular role, I believe we have a responsibility to prove that we deserve to be there,” Hida said. She also shared the principles that have guided her journey, offering them as a source of inspiration for others.

Hida believes that professional success is not determined solely by talent, but by discipline, humility, continuous learning, and the courage to evolve with every challenge. Her reflection conveys a broader message: true achievement is not merely about recognition, but about the character forged through perseverance, self-improvement, and a sustained commitment to excellence. It is this mindset, she believes, that enables individuals to contribute meaningfully to the institutions they serve and to the wider society they aspire to uplift.

“The way to grow is not by believing we are the best, but by never being ashamed to learn from anyone who understands more than we do. Learning is never limited by age or position. In fact, the more experience we gain, the more we realize how much remains unknown. It is this awareness that keeps us humble in the pursuit of knowledge,” said the woman born in 1982.

The woman who once served under the leadership of Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan’s words reflect a philosophy of lifelong learning that has become a defining part of her personal and professional journey. For her, humility is not a sign of weakness, but the foundation of intellectual growth and meaningful leadership. Beyond the recognition and professional achievements, there is another side to her daily life—one marked by quiet perseverance amid the relentless rhythm of the city.

Between crowded streets, traffic congestion, and the dust of urban life, the woman born in Grobogan continues to carry out her responsibilities with determination, discipline, and a sense of purpose that rarely seeks attention. It is within these ordinary yet demanding moments that her resilience becomes most visible, revealing a leader whose strength is shaped not only by accomplishment, but also by the steadfast commitment to continue striving despite life’s daily challenges.

The long pursuit of her doctoral degree often felt, in her own words, like running a marathon with no finish line. Time and again, the dissertation title and its contents had to be revised, rewritten, and at times restarted from scratch. The process was exhausting and emotionally draining, and there were moments when she came close to giving up, even considering enrolling in another university to begin a new doctoral journey. “I was tired, frustrated, and overwhelmed, but I knew I had to keep moving forward because dreams cannot be postponed,” Hida recalled.

Amid those demanding years, an unexpected companion helped Khairul Hidayati endure the journey : motorcycle ride-hailing drivers weaving through the traffic-clogged streets of Salemba. Between academic pressures and endless revisions, she would occasionally pause at roadside food stalls, finding comfort in simple street snacks such as cilok, pentol, and spicy batagor.

Those modest moments became a quiet refuge from the weight of academic struggle, reminding Hida that perseverance is often sustained not by grand gestures, but by small acts of resilience repeated day after day. Her story reveals a side of achievement that is rarely seen—the loneliness, fatigue, and persistence that lie behind academic success and professional recognition. “It felt as though the heat was not only on my tongue, but also a remedy for the stress that had accumulated over time,” she told.

“Every journey felt like a small struggle toward a greater hope. Alhamdulillah, all of that has now passed, and what remains is a deep sense of gratitude,” Hida concluded. Her reflection captures the quiet strength behind a remarkable journey—one shaped by perseverance, humility, and an unwavering commitment to growth.

For many, Khairul Hidayati stands as a deeply inspiring figure whose resilience and dedication embody the values needed to strengthen Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional/BGN). Today, in addition to serving as Head of the Bureau of Legal Affairs and Public Relations, she has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Acting Secretary to the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation. The appointment reflects the confidence placed in her leadership, professionalism, and capacity to contribute to the institution’s strategic mission.

As she continues Khairul Hidayati’s journey in public service, her story serves as a reminder that meaningful leadership is built not only through achievement, but also through perseverance, continuous learning, and a sincere desire to create lasting public value. Congratulations, and continued success in the service of the nation!!!
