This promotion marks a new chapter in the journey of service for The 1994 AKABRI Graduate Officer, A Native of West Nusa Tenggara, born on January 22, 1972. Currently, he is trusted to occupy a strategic position as Secretary of the Deputy (Sesdep) for Promotion and Cooperation of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) of The Republic of Indonesia since March 2025.
This One-Star General’s career spans across units and regions. His service began with the Mobile Brigade Corps in the mid-1990s, with various field assignments in West Kalimantan. This experience honed his leadership skills, tactics, and social awareness from a young age.
Lalu Iwan’s past assignment continued with the Bengkulu Regional Police, then moved on to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. He held several strategic positions, including Chief of the Jagakarsa Metro Police, South Jakarta Police, Chief of the Kelapa Gading Metro Police, North Jakarta Police, Chief of the Penjaringan Metro Police, North Jakarta Police, Chief of the Setia Budi Metro Police, South Jakarta Police, and Chief of the Darmasraya Police, West Sumatra Police.
The dynamic security situation in the capital city offers both innovation and complex leadership challenges. He has also experienced this at the national level. Mamiq Iwan, familiarly known as Baharkam Polri (Indonesian National Police Security Agency), STIK Lemdiklat Polri (Indonesian National Police Education and Training Institute), and the NTB Regional Police Supervisory Agency (Itwasda).

In his message, Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan emphasized the meaning of the profession he has pursued since his youth. “Being a police officer is not just a profession, but a path of devotion to protecting the nation with all my heart,” he said after his inauguration. Now, through his role at the National Nutrition Agency, he embodies the spirit of cross-sector collaboration.

This dedication is aimed at providing more humane public services, while simultaneously strengthening the National Police’s contribution to national strategic areas. Previously, Brigadier General Lalu successfully achieved a proud achievement by being included in the top nine national participants, declared to have passed the National Leadership (PKN) Level I Class LXIII 2025 on Wednesday (October 22, 2025) by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB).

This category is part of a prestigious training program attended by high-ranking officials from various ministries, institutions, and regional governments across Indonesia. “Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), I am grateful to have completed the 2025 PKN Level I and been included in the top nine participants,” said Lalu Iwan after the graduation ceremony. He also expressed his gratitude to his family, colleagues, and all those who supported him throughout the educational process.
